The interaction between Caitlin Clark and Jordan Chiles on Friday was so much fun to watch! Basically, the two met a couple of days ago after the Dallas vs Indiana game, and were seen embracing and joking around with each other. But something was off about the interaction… Chiles was wearing a bedazzled Dallas Wings cap during the matchup, and Caitlin Clark, forever competitive, poked fun at the Olympic gold medalist for this.

Even though you had a Dallas Wings hat on but I’ll let it slide.” CC said, quite obviously joking. However, Chiles replied that the cap was from her friend, and she was making one for every single WNBA team. After all, the gymnast never plays favorites in the W; she just appreciates the amazing players and the game.

However, it does seem like her friend, later tagged as Hats By Holly, saw the interaction and chose to continue some of the fun and games. During the Fever vs Storm matchup today, the Olympic gymnast was seen on the Jumbotron yet again. However, it still wasn’t an Indiana Fever cap that Chiles was wearing. The renowned gymnast rocked up to Seattle while wearing a green Seattle Storm cap, rooting for the hometown. This has led many fans to speculate that the athlete is pulling a good-natured prank on the Indiana Fever star.

But you know what? It is not just Chile who is a full-on WNBA enthusiast. Even her mom, Gina Chile, has joined the conversation now and then. Last year, Gina wasn’t having any of the “Angel vs. Caitlin” noise. She called it out for what it was: a disservice to two women thriving in a sport still fighting for the spotlight. “Angel and Caitlin are both insanely talented and are cookin’ right now. Let them both be great and sit back & enjoy the show!” Gina shared on X.

Now, while we can expect some great banter from Clark and Chiles today as well, there’s still no beating the excitement of Caitlin Clark actually playing the sport. It would make this entire interaction that much funnier and have a much better payout for the build-up. But how long will it take CC to hit the hardwood floors again? Well, head coach Stephanie White had some hopeful words for the Indiana Fever star recently.

“One day at a time,” HC Stephanie White discusses Caitlin Clark’s return timeline

Let’s be honest, the WNBA has lost a bit of its warmth, its shine, during this season. Hundreds of thousands of people tuned in to watch Caitlin Clark last year, and viewership has begun dropping off this year. The reason? Well, Clark has been struggling with a lot of injuries. She has only played 13 games so far, and the league is beginning to hit the panic stations.

So the question arises: When will Caitlin Clark come back fully healthy and ready to ball out? The answer isn’t as easy as the question, though, because the Fever star has already played through three injuries thus far, missing more than half the 2025 season. When reporters asked the tough question to head coach Stephanie White, they got a pretty in-depth answer.

White, during the pre-game presser, revealed that Caitlin Clark’s situation was getting better and better by the day. “Her recovery’s going well.” The Fever’s head coach said. “It’s just for us I think staying the course and make sure we’re really diligent about each step that we take, and that we don’t have setbacks and that we’re patient with it.” And honestly? That’s the best way forward. The WNBA community had a myriad of complaints last time when CC was brought back in, only to get injured a few games later.

However, even though Stephanie White was very forthcoming with the media, she was firm on her stance about CC. “ I know she wants to be out on the floor, and we want her out on the floor, but making sure that she’s ready is the most important thing. I still don’t know how far we are, we’re going to take it one step at a time, one day at a time.” This update, regardless of the positive news, is a bit of a mixed bag.

We can’t wait to see Caitlin Clark back on the hardwood this season. Indiana looks like a completely different game without her, with Natasha Howard and Kelsey Mitchell taking the charge. It will be interesting to see how she fits into new potential dynamics and whether she can deal with the new style of play when she returns!
