“So far, I got Raja’s back. Looking forward to talking about it tomorrow on my podcast.” That’s what WWE legend Rob Van Dam had to say days after Raja Jackson assaulted Stuart Smith, aka Syko Stu, during a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in Sun Valley, Los Angeles, last month. This invited a wave of backlash against Rampage Jackson’s son, as police investigated the incident and Stu continued his recovery in the hospital. Then, the wrestling legend provided further comments.

Wishing Stu a quick recovery, he added, “I’m not picking a side… I see the pathway that he led to what happened… He definitely went too far. He should have known that it could do some serious damage.” The wrestler argued that Jackson should never have been part of the event. Regardless, TMZ Sports reported that Jackson was arrested on felony charges on Thursday morning and is held on $50,000 bond. Since his arrest, Van Dam has shared his support further.

Rob Van Dam empathizes with Raja Jackson’s lawyer

Speaking on his YouTube channel, 1 Of A Kind With RVD, wrestling legend Rob Van Dam—real name Robert Alexander Szatkowski—acknowledged that lawsuits are likely heading Raja Jackson’s way. However, he expressed empathy for Jackson’s defense team, particularly his lawyer. “Just imagine all the hate that Raja’s lawyer is going to get from all the trolls that don’t think that Raja even deserves his side of the story to be heard at all,” Van Dam said.

He showed his support by arguing that, regardless of what Jackson did, he was entitled to a fair trial and to present his case. “Like everyone deserves a defense in their day in court. It’s how it works.” Still, the WWE veteran admitted uncertainty about Jackson’s plea. “Everybody knows what he does. So if he says he’s not guilty, then I don’t even know what the charges are anyway, what he would be not guilty of.”

Van Dam speculated that Jackson’s legal defense may argue he was acting on instructions during the incident. “I would imagine that his lawyer is gonna say he’s doing what he was told to do.” Notably, Jackson was told he could get his revenge during Stu’s matchup, but it was supposed to be a scripted encounter. “Not that’s gonna find him innocent, but that’s the basis, the foundation of how everything sprang off,” he explained.

Does Raja Jackson deserve a second chance, or should he face the full consequences of his actions?

He then doubled down, insisting, “So that’s still what I’ve always said. It’s still completely true. So I’m sure people still hate it.” Regardless, Rob Van Dam isn’t alone in supporting Jackson.

Adin Ross wants Raja Jackson to fight in his promotion

Following the attack, popular streamer Adin Ross came out in support of Raja Jackson, even suggesting he wanted the 25-year-old to compete under his own promotion, Brand Risk. “I see Raja’s getting a lot of hate online. I want Raja to fight on Brand Risk. I think it’s only right,” Ross said, adding that he had already been in talks with Jackson before the incident.

“I want him to fight on Brand Risk, ain’t nothing wrong with that,” he continued. Ross even floated a potential opponent for Jackson—HSTikkyTokky. However, with Jackson now under arrest and being held on a $50,000 bond, it remains unclear whether the son of Rampage Jackson will even have the chance to return home, let alone step into the ring.

That being said, it appears that despite committing an egregious act live on camera, Raja Jackson has plenty of support from his peers. But whether it will be enough to let him walk free is yet to be seen. Do you agree with Rob Van Dam and Adin Ross?
