Things took a brutal turn at KnokX Pro when Raja Jackson, son of the UFC legend Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, brutally attacked Syko Stu in Sun Valley, California. Per the Kick livestream, the starting point was when Syko, aka Stuart Smith, mistook Raja for a wrestler and struck him with a beer can. As soon as Smith was informed that Raja was ‘not a wrestler,’ he shook hands with Jackson. But things quickly escalated after fellow wrestler Andre Joel Hudson urged Raja to “give him his receipt.”

By this time, Jackson had lost all his patience and entered the ring in the middle of a fight. When he got his hands on Syko Stu, he slammed him to the mat, instantly knocking the wind out of the wrestler with a series of blows on the livestream. The unexpected fight ended up putting Smith in the hospital. After all, the attack looked pretty deadly, with no major health updates out for the public until Stu’s close friend Marcus Hamm finally recovered consciousness.

Hamm shared a group photo with Stu on Facebook, saying, “I know this is all over media right now, and I have absolutely nothing to say regarding what transpired. But I want everyone who is concerned for Stuart Smith to know that he is awake now but in bad shape. So please keep him in your prayers. It’s going to be a long road to recovery.” Apart from Hamm, Stuart’s brother, Andrew Smith, also confirmed the current situation of Syko.

“Thank you everyone for your prayers, concerns, and kid words for my brother Stu. Please continue to keep him I your prayers. He is currently stable but in critical care. At this time, we’re focused on his recovery and appreciate all the support.” Andrew also warned fans not to pay any heed to fundraising websites claiming to be any potential fundraiser. “We currently do not [have] a GoFundMe set up, any links posted are not affiliated with us,” Andrew added.

Douglas Malo, a fellow wrestler who helped stop Raja Jackson’s attack on Syko Stu, also provided an update on the situation. He told USA TODAY that Smith was awake and talking, but had fractured bones in his face and lost several teeth. But despite the grave injuries, Smith could be released from the hospital on August 24. He said, “He was choking on his own blood and teeth.”

The relief of learning that Stu is awake has been tempered by the severity of his injuries. According to eyewitness claims and viral videos, Jackson unleashed more than 20 strikes on Stu, with the intensity ranging from theatrical to terrifyingly real. According to reports, Stu was already unconscious when officials and others at ringside pulled Jackson away.

This amount of severe damage explains why the wrestler’s rehabilitation is expected to be lengthy and challenging. Jackson himself has not backed away from the situation. After being restrained, he was shown delivering an angry promo that appeared to be more of a personal outburst than a wrestling storyline.

“At the end of the day, I’m going to stand up for myself because I’m tired of everybody playing with me,” Raja Jackson told the crowd, adding fuel to the debate over whether the incident was spontaneous rage or a poorly executed attempt to blend reality and wrestling fiction. As Stu begins to heal, the fallout continues to spread.

According to The New York Times, the Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation into the incident. The LAPD has yet to comment on the matter, but for now, fans can only hope and pray for Stu’s recovery from the brutal attack.
