The Kansas City Chiefs are all set to avenge last season’s Super Bowl defeat as they take on the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sunday at the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Missouri. The play will kick off at 4:25 PM ET. The Chiefs will be stepping on the field with winning aspirations in order to open their account this season after the first week’s loss against the Chargers. The weather doesn’t seem to pose any major threat to the game for now.
Missouri experiences warm and breezy weather, with a 20%-25% chance of rain. But the weather on game day has taken a shift from its regular nature. According to AccuWeather, the chances of rain have been reduced to around 6%-11% with a temperature reaching up to 91°F. The wind speed will be up to 12 mph with gusts around 27 mph.
Kickoff | 91 | 6% | Partly sunny | 11.8 mph | 27.3 mph | 36% |
Q2 | 91 | 7% | Partly sunny | 10.6 mph | 24.2 mph | 36% |

In the second half, the temperature will drop gradually to 86°F by the fourth. The slight chances of thunderstorms will diminish as the game advances from quarters two to four. Winds will stay on the same path throughout, easing slightly up to 8 mph in the final quarter, with gusts around 20 mph. Humidity will rise to 45%, and cloud cover will increase to nearly half at 49%, with good visibility maintained throughout. So for most parts, rain should stay away.
Patrick Mahomes aims to break the losing streak
Their last meeting in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, which was a Super Bowl rematch, ended with the Eagles winning 40-22 in much colder weather. The Eagles have won the last two games against the Chiefs, and winning a third in a row would give them a stronger grip on this rivalry. For Kansas City, this is a big challenge because Patrick Mahomes has never lost three games in a row to the same team since he became the Chiefs’ starter. The last time he had a losing streak like this was back in college at Texas Tech in 2016, where he had two separate three-game losing streaks.

Also, both star-studded teams will be taking over the field without some of their key players. The Eagles will be missing a key player, tight end Dallas Goedert, who caught seven passes for 44 yards in their Week 1 win over the Cowboys. tight end Grant Calcaterra is expected to start for him, and tight end Kylen Granson might get more playing time. On the Chiefs’ side, wide receiver Xavier Worthy is out with a dislocated shoulder, and WR Rashee Rice is suspended through Week 6. Losing both receivers limits Mahomes’ passing options for this important game, where both teams will be tested on how well they adapt.
The Chiefs vs Eagles game is going to be intense! Both teams’ mental strength will be tested, and how deep their benches go will really matter as backups step up under pressure. Every move, every tactical change will be watched closely because it could decide who takes control early in the season. Quick thinking and fast adaptation will be key. Whoever adjusts faster could grab a big advantage in the fight to be the best in the NFL. Fans, get ready for a tough, fast-paced battle!
