Washington Commanders‘ wide receiver Terry McLaurin sustained a quad injury during the Week 3 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. And now there is a big question mark on his status for Week 4.
Reports claim that McLaurin is seeking additional medical opinions for the quad injury he sustained in the Week 3 victory over the Raiders, leaving his status for the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons uncertain. He left the field following a 56-yard catch with 4:47 remaining in the third quarter and did not return. The reception was initially ruled a touchdown, but was reversed after a replay. It did, however, place the ball at the 1-yard line from where Washington scored again to take their lead to 34-10.

McLaurin missing a game will be a rare sight, considering he hasn’t missed one since Week 16 of the 2020 season, appearing in 72 straight regular-season games. This season, he has recorded 10 receptions for 149 yards.
With WR Noah Brown‘s status also being questionable, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane, and Chris Moore will have to shoulder more responsibility. Thankfully, the Commanders can still rely on Deebo Samuel, who has 16 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown this season.

Although there isn’t any official statement on McLaurin’s injury but head coach Dan Quinn has come out with an update on QB Jayden Daniels, who suffered a knee injury against the Packers.
Commanders’ coach to take things slowly with Jayden Daniels
“We’re still listing him as day to day, and then as we get into Wednesday, I’ll be more qualified to hit on what types of practice and what we can hit on to go,” Quinn said on Monday. “So he went through some things today, some more tomorrow, and that’ll lead us up into Wednesday. But when we get together prior to practice, I’ll have a better idea for the plan. We’ve not nailed that down for the week as yet.”

The Commanders do have the luxury of letting Daniels take his time to recover fully, thanks to Marcus Mariota. Filling in for Daniels against his former team, the Raiders, the veteran backup had a productive outing, connecting on 15 of 21 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. He also had six rushes for 40 yards and another score.
Mariota had filled Jayden Daniels’ shoes last year as well on two occasions—the Week 7 win against Carolina and the Week 18 win against Dallas. So yes, it’s not the QB room that Quinn has to worry about, at least for the time being. But more clarity can certainly be expected on both Daniels’ and McLaurin’s status in the coming days.
