It is the fourth week of the NFL 2025, and the Washington Commanders are the center of attention. It seems that the quarterback Jayden Daniels, is the topic of discussion on the team. Due to a knee sprain, Daniels was out for last Sunday’s victory against the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Dan Quinn, however, has some decent news to share. “He is doing everything you possibly can to get there,” Quinn reiterated, referring to the limited rookie practice on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Daniels only talked to the public after Washington’s defeat by the Green Bay Packers almost two weeks ago. When he was asked about his appearance on Sunday, he was quite reserved with his emotions. “Up to the doctors,” Daniels said. “Not in my control. I do feel good.”

It appears that the young QB clearly wants to play now, but has restricted access to the gridiron. When asked about where he is currently, he simply replied that he “feels good”. Daniels confessed that if he does decide to play, he will have a “conversation” about wearing a knee brace, which would be a new thing for him. Otherwise, veteran Marcus Mariota will be the one to take over again.

Mariota managed the Commanders to a 41-24 rout of the Las Vegas Raiders last week when Daniels was not available. He threw for 207 yards and a touchdown out of 15 completions on 21 attempts. Besides that, he also ran in for an extra score. He seems to be a potential replacement for Daniels, who has been impressive, racking up 433 passing yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, as well as 85 rushing yards. After that, the former No. 2 overall pick decided to hide his feelings and suffer for returning to the field.

Will Daniels play this Sunday? HC Dann Quinn gives an update

Washington Commanders’ Quarterback was the subject of a conversation as the day of the game was coming up. After the game on Sunday, head coach Dan Quinn said that we are dealing with a “day-to-day” situation regarding Jayden, and therefore, he could be against the Falcons in Atlanta, although it is not certain. On Wednesday, Daniels tried to push his luck as he came back to work for a short time as a limited participant. Though the signs are positive, no official announcement about his availability for Sunday has been made yet.

“He will still be going through his return to play protocol, and you will see him limited on the field this time,” Dan Quinn cleared the air at a press conference on Wednesday. “We will continue to rely on the medical team for their final clearance, but from what I can tell, he is doing everything humanly possible to get there.” Well, Daniels’ uncertain appearance isn’t the only concern for Quinn right now.

WR Terry McLaurin has a quad injury and will not put on his cleats. It seems that TE John Bates, with his groin and calf, is dealing with two very unpleasant matters. WR Noah Brown is not only dealing with a knee injury that dates back to June, but also has a groin problem from the Packers game. Safety Percy Butler is suffering from a hip injury, and RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt has a new knee problem. The Commanders and their fans will now watch closely as the team progresses, hoping their star players can suit up against Atlanta.
