Running back Quinshon Judkins is set for his NFL debut, and head coach Kevin Stefanski has a careful but confident plan. Set to suit up just in time for the Cleveland Browns’ clash with the Baltimore Ravens, the rookie could quietly spark a shift in the former’s offense, if it works.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that head coach Stefanski has a clear blueprint for how to use the rookie. As part of that plan, Judkins’ snaps will be limited at first as he adjusts to the speed of the NFL, and his workload will be closely monitored as he eases into action.

The 21-year-old was drafted 36th overall in 2025 and is set to make his debut on Sunday. After missing training camp due to legal issues and a shoulder injury, he returned to full practice on Thursday and Friday, impressing coaches with his focus and energy. The Browns believe he can help boost their struggling run game.

Judkins’ college career is nothing short of impressive. At Ole Miss, he rushed for 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2022, earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors. After transferring to Ohio State, he contributed to a national championship run in 2024, rushing for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns. Over his three-year college career, he amassed 3,785 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns, showcasing his elite talent.

While speaking with journalist Mary Kay Cabot, the head coach sounded excited but careful about the rookie’s debut. Stefanski said Judkins has done “everything we’ve asked him to do” and is in great football shape. The coach also called him a “smart kid” who learns the playbook quickly.

The final decision for Sunday will be made soon, but it’s clear the Browns believe Judkins can bring energy and spark to their run game.

Kevin Stefanski might spoil the Ravens’ 30th anniversary celebrations

The Cleveland Browns opened their 2025 season with a gut-wrenching 17,16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite a valiant effort from veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who threw for 290 yards and a touchdown, the Browns fell short. Rookie kicker Andre Szmyt had a debut to forget, missing an extra point and a 36-yard field goal that could have sealed the win. The defense, led by Myles Garrett, was dominant, holding the Bengals to just 141 total yards, but the offense couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Quinshon Judkins be the spark the Browns need to finally dominate the rushing game?

Looking ahead, the Browns face the Baltimore Ravens in a Week 2 matchup. The Ravens are celebrating their 30th season in Baltimore, a milestone that adds extra intensity to this AFC North rivalry. Cleveland fans feel the sting of history, as the Ravens’ franchise traces its roots back to the original Browns before the team’s controversial relocation in 1996.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski addressed the team’s mindset following the loss, emphasizing the need to move forward. “Yeah, it’s football. You have to move on, win, lose or draw. So, we moved on Monday.” Stefanski said.

He acknowledged the missed opportunities but remained confident in his team’s resilience. The Browns aim to rebound against the Ravens and prove their mettle in a hostile environment. The Ravens’ 30th-anniversary celebration adds an emotional layer to an already charged rivalry. Cleveland must channel the pain of their season opener into a focused and determined performance on Sunday.
