Notre Dame is 1-2 after registering their first win (56-30) against Purdue last Saturday, September 14. The Irish lost both their first two games in the previous few minutes. In Week 2, they lost 40-41 against Texas A&M. In the final 13 seconds, Nate Boerkircher converted an 11-yard pass from Marcel Reed into a touchdown. The game also featured targeting controversy, and ND running back Jeremiyah Love is doubling down on that.
With 11 minutes to play, Adon Shuler was flagged for targeting Marcel Reed, as his helmet was in contact with Reed’s shoulder. Although head coach Marcus Freeman opposed the call, a review confirmed it, and Shuler was called off the field. Although weeks passed, the controversial Texas A&M game is still under debate. Now, things started to get more intense, as Love made a severe allegation against Texas A&M players.
ND Insider Mike Berardino on X reported that Jeremiyah Love got targeted by Texas A&M players with the intention to hurt and to take him out of the game. The Notre Dame RB said, “People have been coming, trying to rip it off. They’ve been trying to do whatever they can to take me out of the game. Try to blow my knees up, all that.”

Jeremiyah Love Puts JaDarian Price in the Spotlight
Jeremiyah Love, on the most recent interview in the bye week, told the media that the Fighting Irish’s JaDarian Price is one of the best RBs in the country. He credited him for creating explosive runs at any point in a game. “If you need JD to show up, JD is going to show up,” Love vouched for Price’s reliability. He said that he has known him since he joined the program. “He’s got very fast feet, so I try to incorporate that into my own game. Just seeing the way JD works every day, I respect it a lot.”
Price is one of the key players of the Irish. In the four games he played, he rushed for 187 yards, carrying 27 times for 5 touchdowns. He played a key role in the last two matches for Notre Dame, rushing for a touchdown whenever the team needed. It seems like the RBs are going to play a crucial role in the Irish comeback.
