Carson Beck is heavily favored to win the Heisman Trophy.
What delightful news for Miami Hurricanes QB1 Carson Beck and DE Rueben Bain Jr. when On3’s Heisman Trophy poll was released this Wednesday. Both moved up after Week 3, solidifying their team’s position in the national awards conversation on both sides of the football. UM coach Mario Cristobal sang praises when asked about his starter Beck on Monday, calling him “genuine, real, strong, alpha.” That last descriptor might resonate even louder this week, because Beck carries with him a very personal incentive when it comes to facing Florida, in a way UF fans know very well and don’t like, not one bit. A rivalry that has shaped his career and given him some of his most cherished memories.
You see, Carson Beck had a lot to learn about Miami when he first joined in January. Getting into rivalry week mood was not one of them. Although he is yet to face the Gators and FSU as a Cane, he and the Swamp dwellers are both very familiar with each other. When asked about it during an interview, he didn’t hesitate to recall what those battles meant to him back in Georgia. “So in the Georgia-Florida game whenever we would win, obviously we’re playing in Jacksonville, but our tradition after the game would always be to go jump up in the stands with all the Georgia fans.” He has already jumped twice in delight after beating them and now has the chance to do so for the third time.
The superfamiliarity between old rivals can set a new Dawg record, becoming the third QB in the last 25 years. After fellow former Georgians Jake Fromm and Aaron Murray beating Florida three times as a starter, Carson Beck threw for 624 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions against Florida in last two years, getting wins by scores of 43-20 and 34-20. “So I think in those games and those wins that we got, that’s got to be, you know, some of my favorite memories is going up and jumping up in the stands with all my teammates at Georgia.” That tradition, that connection, is now the same kind of fire he wants to ignite at Hard Rock Stadium—this time wearing green and orange.

Heisman-favorite Carson Beck delivers amazing performance against South Florida.
Even his new team, Miami is set to face its two biggest rivals for the first time — Florida and Florida State — in consecutive games during the same season. All of this starts Saturday, when Carson Beck and No. 4th Hurricanes (3-0) play host to UF (1-2). Being already beaten Gators twice as a starter. He celebrated those wins with fans in Jacksonville, vaulting into the stands in moments that felt larger than football.
For the Canes guy, it’s a chance not just to pad stats, but to reinforce that he’s more than just another Heisman name in a crowded race. Canes coaches are also cranking up the volume for Gators showdown.

Mario’s staff has put Miami students on attention
What is going to be asked of their QB1 Carson and team this Saturday will be far greater. Across the field will be DJ Lagway, built to test Miami’s discipline in space; Beck, by contrast, is wired to punish breakdowns with relentless accuracy. The matchup feels like the Once In A Lifetime event of Canelo-Crawford trading styles—both improvisational and kinetic. So, some extra electric juice going forward will be needed. And there is.

What’s your perspective on:
Can Carson Beck's past triumphs over Florida fuel Miami's fire for another epic showdown?

Canes Nation—your coaches are calling you out. After seeing Hard Rock Stadium buzzing against Notre Dame and USF, the Miami staff wants that same fire, maybe even more, when Florida comes to town. The message has been clear all week: bring the juice. They flooded social media with reminders, rally towels are being handed out, and they want the ‘U’ students to turn this into a full-on movement.
Miami’s Executive Director Dennis Smith put it, “#ELECTRICJUICE. It’s back this week ready for U to take over the ROCK.” Recruiting coordinator Joe Brown tied it straight to the team’s culture, saying, “A brotherhood built in practice shows up on game day. #GoCanes #ElectricJuice #SaltAndPepper.”
