When Ayesha Curry said, “I did not sign up for it,” she knew her marriage to Stephen Curry came with public scrutiny. For years, the couple handled the noise with grace—until this time, when Steph decided enough was enough. The spark? Comments from Grammy-winning rapper Killer Mike, which not only drew a sharp reaction from Curry but also led his longtime friend and former NBA guard Brandon Jennings to step in with a warning.
It all began when social media personality Bookie Woodz, known for his comedic riffs, made a post about Ayesha’s remarks on the Call Her Daddy podcast. While his take wasn’t exactly flattering, fans brushed it off as part of his usual routine.
But Killer Mike’s response crossed a line. Under the post, he reportedly wrote: “😂😂😂 My N—– said she wanna go be Glo!!! Man Steph doesn’t deserve the embarrassment frfr. God bless him.” While the rapper framed it as defending Steph, the comment struck the Warriors star differently. Curry wasn’t amused—and soon, his circle made it clear that this wasn’t just another joke.

The Chef jumped in the comments to back Woodz but drag the hip-hop emcee commenting, “@killermike naaaaa not you Mike. i’m cool stating silent and letting these other clowns have they’re moment! and you’re the worst of them @baowoodz234. But you’re better than that @killermike. Stay in your lane and let God keep blessing me like he is. We r good over here.✌️”
The comments have since been deleted. But not before The Shade Room captured it and displayed it for social media. After Steph broke his silence on this issue for the first time, many came to his defence, including Brandon Jennings.
“Just say women don’t take you serious. Leave that man marriage alone!!! You know how I get down talking about people I love 🙏” he wrote under this post on Instagram.
That last bit should be taken seriously. Jennings not only has intensely loud moments defending his POV on Gil’s Arena. He is protective about his NBA community.

Brandon Jennings stands up for NBA WAGs
Brandon Jennings was never Stephen Curry’s teammate. They had a minor rivalry, in fact, driven by the time Jennings dropped 55 points on the Warriors in 2010. However, their association with the Under Armor brand forged a tight friendship that got stronger after Jennings retired and is no longer under the brand, but has his own – Tuff Crowd.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Steph Curry right to defend his marriage publicly, or should he keep silent on such matters?
Have an interesting take?
Jennings is most grateful for Curry and Under Armor for helping him build a basketball court in Rowley Park at Gardenia, Jennings’ hometown. The Curry Brand and Tuff Crowd have had their own limited edition edition collabs before. But that’s barely the surface of why Jennings is defending Steph and Ayesha’s marriage.
As his comment implied, Jennings is indeed protective about the extended NBA player community. Earlier this year, after rapper Kevin Gates made comments claiming Savannah James was controlling of LeBron. Despite Bron himself defending his wife—Jennings also weighed in.

“The LeBron James hate is getting weird man. The Bronny stuff now the wife!!! it’s like people be obsessed. It’s Kind of weird yall,” Jennings tweeted back then.
It’s very unlike Steph to comment anything on his marriage (probably why he deleted the comments). But the situation is near similar. Unless Killer Mike takes Jennings’ word for it, this might not go away anytime soon.
