“To watch Zaire get up every day and chase something when everybody telling him he shouldn’t chase it… ‘You’re not as good as your dad’… There’s beauty in that.” In 2021, Dwyane Wade’s eldest son was part of the G-League. But since then, he has failed to lock in his place amongst the pros. Zaire Wade hasn’t given up on his dream, as he was close last year. While that career is on standby, the 23-year-old begins another field with a bang!

On his Instagram, Z-Wade shared the clip, “Zaire Starting his twitch career bu giving back. 50k!! in jewelry.” Yes, now his focus might be on content creation, a career option reportedly expected to reach an eye-popping $117.51 billion market size by 2034 (per Polaris Market Research), which he previously shared with his father. After all, the Heat icon has already given a deadline to his son to fulfill the dream. Focusing on streaming, the Giveaway was announced yesterday in collaboration with GLD brand, which has over 1.5 million followers on Instagram.

They have previously worked with various players like the NBA’s Chris Paul, the NFL’s Ja’Marr Chase, Tyreek Hill, and teams such as the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream. For collaboration with Zaire, they had set some rules for the winner. “1-Follow @itszairewade & @shopgld on TWITCH. 2- Clip favorite moment from collab stream. 3- Post clip on TikTok & tag @zairewade & @shopgld (on TikTok) 4- Chat majority decides on piece for winner !” They followed this to the T, and the winner was apparently number 4.

Alright, four up, four in the lead. Four in the lead. Alright. Four again. Four got three. Get closer, said Zaire. “You want that diamond, that’s what you want.“Dwayne Wade’s eldest has started streaming; it shouldn’t be a surprise. Because this is off-season, many players are doing it. Take, for example, Carmelo Anthony’s son, Kiyan. He will begin his first year at Syracuse soon. Until then, streaming works as a stress buster. Previously, too, Zaire explained his plans to focus on content creation.

On the Time Out podcast, after the statue unveiling ceremony for the Flash, the father-son duo hopped on for a chat. That’s when the 23-year-old stated, “I’m trying to get into the content world, so hence, my first time on the Pod…I just did a little self-promotion there, but besides that, taking it day by day.” This message from him came in November last year.

Dwyane Wade explained why the deadline is forced in the first place

In order to walk in his father’s footsteps, Zaire took a different road. Rather than entering college, he entered the G League straight out of high school. Salt Lake City Stars selected him as the 10th pick, but an injury limited his production with the team. Therein, he averaged 3.2 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game over 13 appearances. From there, he moved to Africa to play for the Cape Town Tigers and once again changed continents to represent Macau Black Bears in the Asian Tournament. However, none of the stats there were impressive.

But he did not give up. Last year, Zaire put his name again in the G League, but remained undrafted. That’s why it was important for Dwyane Wade to have a real discussion. “‘Hey you got four years, you got a buffer; you have done this you got the next four years of your life from 23 to 27 to figure out what you want to do.’ Go chase what you want to chase. But hey, you got a trust fund too! That’s going to give you that soft cushion for the next four years to do that.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Zaire Wade's shift to streaming a smart move, or should he keep chasing the NBA dream?

Have an interesting take?

D-Wade stated that he has built a trust fund so his children have extra time to pursue their dreams. But there was a caution that the fund is not unlimited. At some point, if the NBA dream doesn’t work out for Zaire, he will have to start to look at another career. Maybe streaming and content creation is that outlet for him.
