Dale Earnhardt Jr. is celebrated for his racing prowess, but his off-track escapades often steal the show. One memorable incident occurred during a charity event where he invited singer Edwin McCain to perform. Eager to impress, Junior requested McCain to play “In Your Eyes,” believing it was McCain’s rendition. However, it was actually Jeffrey Gaines who had covered the song. He later admitted the blunder was due to Napster mislabeling the track, but the embarrassment lingered.
Another instance of Dale’s endearing faux pas occurred during a family podcast. His wife, Amy, revealed that their daughters often gang up on him, pointing out his “impolite habits” like farting. Dale admitted to being an “easy target,” with his daughters humorously calling him out when he lets one slip. Despite the teasing, he took it in stride, acknowledging that his habits were now part of family lore. But the habits have continued even outside the confines of their home.

When racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. gets human
In a recent episode of the Bless Your Hardt podcast, Dale Jr. shared a moment with his wife, Amy, that left the couple utterly speechless. “So we go to the Flying Monkey, though, to get a monkey drink because they are delicious, and when you’re tired of drinking beer, it’s a good change. But it’s hot. It feels like it’s 90 degrees outside, and it’s swampy. So we go sit at this bar and drink our frozen drinks, and there’s this giant box fan at the end of the bar blowing into the bar,” Amy began narrating. At first glance, it might look like a normal couple’s outing, but the situation took an unexpected turn when Junior, in his typical self-deprecating style, became the star of an unusual event.
“Well, Dale, coincidentally, just sits right in front of that damn box fan and rips the nastiest fart. And I’m like, ‘Oh my god,’ I’m literally choked. I’m like, ‘Who does that?’ Sits with his friend in front of the freaking box fan and just rips it and lets the dead animal out of his ass and ruins our moment. I’m like, ‘Now what I remember about the Flying Monkey Bar is that box fan,'” she recounted. The story was met with bouts of laughter in the studio, but also highlighted Dale Jr.‘s unfiltered nature, reminiscent of other public moments where he has poked fun at himself on The Dale Jr Download podcast, showing fans that even a NASCAR legend can be hilariously human.
Nothing makes us laugh like a good fart story. 🤣💨

Junior’s reaction to the chaotic moment was equally entertaining. “Now, finally, nobody’s going to want to go to the fu—g monkey,” he said sarcastically, leaning into the absurdity of the scenario. Amy shot back with playful exasperation: “Not with you. You can’t take him anywhere.” Junior, ever the straight-shooter, embraced the comedy of the situation, saying, “I can’t help it. I’m a man, I’m gonna fart.” Amy added practical commentary, noting that Junior had alternatives, saying, “If he has to do that, he’s doing it. There’s a restroom real close. There’s another bar with nobody sitting at it real close.” These exchanges not only demonstrate the dynamics of their marriage but also the kind of off-track storytelling fans have come to expect from Junior.
But this incident reminds one of an even funnier anecdote from Junior himself. In the podcast, Junior revealed that during a tour of the Oval Office, he couldn’t hold back and ended up passing gas in the iconic room. He admitted, “I just couldn’t hold it,” adding a touch of humor to the situation. Amy recounted the moment during their podcast discussion. She recalled, “So we’re watching whatever we’re watching on TV and Dale goes, ‘You know I actually farted in the Oval Office once.'” Her initial reaction was one of amusement and disbelief, but it was all a simple moment of hilarious anecdotal exchanges.

Dale Jr. and family gear up for Halloween fun
Last season, while most of the NASCAR world had its eyes set on Martinsville and the season finale at Phoenix, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s family found itself caught up in a tricky affair. “I can’t remember when I stopped trick-or-treating. You know, I think it was probably 12, 13. And there were all these like stories, these horror stories, and like riding on the school bus, other kids telling you about like people putting razorblades in apples and all kinds of weird stuff. It didn’t really happen. When did you quit dressing up?” Junior shared. His daughters, Nicole and Isla, eventually figured out their costumes, with Nicole as a minion and Isla as a princess from The Descendants.

Amy’s Halloween ideas for the family certainly raised eyebrows. She recounted, “Probably around 10, 11. Yeah, we did that. I did get to have a Halloween party once when I was like in middle school, and we did it in the garage, and we danced, and we had a little thing set up where you could put your hands through, and it touched creepy things. And so we had grapes for eyeballs, and we had Papa gave us cow parts. So we had a tongue. And intestines in there.” Dale Jr., completely blindsided by the story, responded, “For real? Yes. Holy s—, Amy. I bet her friends are like, ‘How was the party last night?’ Well, it was a cow tongue.”
Last year, Amy proposed transforming Dale Jr. into Captain Hook or even a quirky, blue-haired character from a musical, complete with a silicone mask. Dale Jr.’s reaction? Equal parts amusement and hesitation. He wasn’t thrilled about hiding behind someone else’s face. As Halloween excitement builds again this year, fans are eager to see what the Earnhardt family will reveal.
