The “Bennifer” romance may have ended, but the saga still has chapters left to tell. After a highly publicized separation, Jennifer Lopez is now promoting a new album with a post-divorce theme. The tracks reportedly reflect the hurt Lopez endured while she was married to the ‘Batman’ actor. Earlier this year, the couple finalized their divorce, which Lopez had filed in August 2024. Both Affleck and Lopez still maintain a cordial relationship, as they should. However, it still gets under Affleck’s skin when Lopez’s ex reaches out to her.

Apparently, Lopez received a text from her former fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, following her controversial divorce from Affleck. As per #ShutterScoop, the text was a harmless ‘just checking in’ kind of message. Yet, the gesture did not sit well with Affleck.

One year after breaking up with Lopez, Rodriguez started dating Jaclyn Cordeiro. Despite still being in a committed relationship with Cordeiro, an anonymous source told the Economic Times earlier this year that A-Rod “still cares about” Lopez.

In fact, Affleck was often suspicious of A-Rod and was “constantly worried there were feelings bubbling beneath the surface.” He was never really comfortable with their friendship. It also came to light that A-Rod’s checking-in message to Lopez was “definitely not accidental.” The #ShutterScoop source emphasized that there is nothing romantic unfolding, but they said if anyone can potentially make a second-chance love story again, it is none other than Lopez.

Lopez dated Rodriguez for a few years before she got engaged to him during a 2019 Bahamas vacation. However, the “If You Had My Love” singer called off the wedding in 2021, as the two reportedly had too many unresolved issues. They issued a joint statement to TODAY revealing that they are “better as friends and look forward to remaining so.” 

Now, years later, Lopez intends to stay single while she focuses on her music!

The last thing Affleck would like is anyone asking him about Lopez’s recent album. It was confirmed back in April that after his divorce from Lopez, he has been spotted laughing and spending more time with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. As this continues, J.Lo has quietly found herself back in conversation with Rodriguez.

Radar Online revealed that A-Rod was “supposedly felt compelled to see” Lopez after her infamous divorce. Though he is still committed to Corderio, he just wanted to make sure Lopez was “holding up.” However, this was enough to get people talking. After all, these two once had their entire future mapped out before life pulled them apart in 2021.

Sources insist that whatever meet-ups happen are unplanned, more like moments that just… happen when two people share so much history. But they also hint that sometimes, those small steps are exactly how old love stories find their way back.
