Hours before Team USA tees off at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, the 2024 Solheim Cup champions shared a playful Instagram video, wishing them luck and urging them to bring home the cup. “Hey guys, just wanna say good luck to the US Ryder Cup team — go out there, kick some b**t, represent well!” said Lexi Thompson, with a smile that blended pride, playfulness, and just a hint of competitive fire. She wasn’t alone.
Stacy Lewis joined in, too, beaming with pride. “We’ve got our cup, so go get yours. Go USA!” she said in the video. From Lauren Coughlin’s energetic “Beat the Europeans!” to Yealimi Noh’s cheerful “I’m rooting for Team USA. Go USA!” — the message was consistent — this squad won’t just be watching from the sidelines but also cheering loud and proud.
Allisen Corpuz chimed in too, “You guys are gonna crush it!” — while Rose Zhang kept it cool but supportive — “Go USA!” Even Sarah Schmelzel joined the chorus with a heartfelt sendoff — “Good luck at Bethpage. I’ll be cheering hard.”

The Solheim Cup squad’s message was a rallying cry from golfers who know the pressure of competing on a global stage. Like the Ryder Cup, the biennial event features 12 top golfers from the U.S. and Europe battling since 1990.
After shifting the schedule from odd- to even-numbered years, the 2024 win felt especially significant, since it was on home soil. The Americans beat the Europeans 15.5 points to 12.5 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia. The team featured several of the golfers seen in the video, sending their good luck wishes to Team USA, including Stacy Lewis, who captained the winning team in 2024 and recently announced her retirement from professional golf.

Lexi Thompson was part of that victorious team, too, earning a spot as a captain’s pick—bringing her experience and fire to a squad hungry for redemption. But it hasn’t been an easy road for her since then, as she has faced her share of challenges recently. After stepping back into semi-retirement in 2025, she opened up about how tough it’s been mentally to slow down, telling Vanessa Welch, “It’s been hard to shut off my mind… it’s OK to take a few days off here and there.” Even then, Thompson’s competitive fire remains strong—clearly fueling her heartfelt support for Team USA as they gear up for the Ryder Cup showdown.
While the Solheim Cup squad’s cheers still echo, the spotlight shifts firmly to the men’s Ryder Cup battle underway at Bethpage Black. The captains have dropped the Friday morning foursomes pairings, and let’s just say—the stage is set for some serious fireworks.

Friday Foursomes at the 2025 Ryder Cup
Team USA captain Keegan Bradley will kick things off by sending out the dynamic duo of Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas to open the match against Europe’s powerhouse pair, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton. “They bring a spark to our team,” Bradley said. “They are both fiery golfers. They are both going to relish the opportunity to lead out our team. They are just two guys that short of thrive in that,” he added.
And both DeChambeau and Thomas are ready to live up to the hype. “I think all of us were in agreement that Bryson needed to be in that first match, and being his partner, I’m very excited that we get to do that together,” Thomas said, almost echoing Brandel Chamblee’s remarks just a day ago. Bryson DeChambeau, on the other hand, knows this opportunity is huge and admitted, “We’ve got a big responsibility.”

The second pairing will be World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley against Europe’s Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick. Bradley called Scheffler “a leader” and “He’s the guy that our golfers look up to and look for leadership,” and praised Henley’s calm consistency. Together, they bring a perfect balance of focus and firepower. “It’ll be a good match,” Scheffler said, “and should be a lot of fun.”
With these pairings locked in, the Friday action promises high drama, fierce competition, and that unmistakable Ryder Cup intensity fans crave. We all need to gear up as Bethpage Black is about to deliver.
