The 2025 Korn Ferry Tour season wrapped up with Chandler Blanchet’s impressive win at the Tour Championship. While Johnny Keefer secured the top spot on the points table, the top 20 remained unchanged, meaning the same players earned their PGA Tour cards for 2026. In recognition of the moment, veteran golfer Justin Thomas took a moment to congratulate the new pros, sending a strong message, recalling his own memories.
The 2-time major winner tweeted, “Congrats to all those @KornFerryTour members who earned their @PGATOUR cards yesterday! Such an amazing accomplishment, always will be a moment I won’t forget in my career.” Thomas has quite a few fond memories from the one season he spent on the Korn Ferry Tour. There is a very good story behind all he accomplished back then.

Thomas was only 20 when he first joined the KFT in February 2014. He had a spectacular start to his professional career with a T5 finish in the Pacific Rubiales Colombia Championship. The closest he got to a win was in the El Bosque Mexico Championship, where he finished as a runner-up with an 11-under par. However, the then youngster did later get his first win.
The moment came in the penultimate tournament of the season, the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. That secured his 5th place on the Korn Ferry Tour points table and a ticket to the PGA Tour. Thomas has since had the opportunity to play alongside some of the rising talent following the same path.
Thomas and Neal Shipley joined the field for the 2025 Valspar Championship back in March. He also played with Johnny Keefer in the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. It will be exciting to see how these stars perform when they regularly play against the top players on the PGA Tour very soon.
But when will the new PGA Tour cardholders get to play with Justin Thomas next? Let’s look at his upcoming commitments.

When will Justin Thomas play alongside the new stars from the Korn Ferry Tour?
As far as his schedule goes, Justin Thomas had already made it into the top 30 of the FedEx Cup rankings earlier this year. Currently, he doesn’t really need to play any Fall events. Just like the last few seasons, fans can expect him to skip most of the tournaments from now till December 2025, making it improbable for a match-up against a KFT player this year.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Chandler Blanchet's Korn Ferry success translate to PGA Tour victories, or is the competition too fierce?
Have an interesting take?
The next time Thomas will play a tournament will probably be the 2025 Hero World Challenge. Although the event probably won’t feature any Korn Ferry Tour players.

The next time Justin Thomas might play a tournament that will also include the newly promoted players would be in the 2026 season. Thomas has appeared in The American Express for the last couple of years. Considering that it’s a full-field event, that’s probably the best venue where he might get to meet most of the 20 new PGA Tour cardholders.
Thomas’ journey from the Korn Ferry Tour to major wins serves as both inspiration and a benchmark for the new PGA Tour cardholders. While fans await his next on-course matchups with these rising stars, his congratulations and shared memories underline the milestones that lie ahead for them.
